IDEA's principals have long been in the "idea" business. For 25 years, they have sought to provide constructive "thought leadership" to universities and their economic development partners, and to professional associations in higher education and economic development.

This professional service effort has taken several forms - published books and articles; many presentations and training sessions at conferences; and service on boards of directors of key associations.

In October 2009, the Association of University Research Parks award an Appreciation Award to Eva Klein for her many years of service to AURP and, more importantly, for her years of service to universities in the creation of new strategies for economic development and engagement, in which parks are an element.
